Anna's House - Okemos

Awesome breakfast place with nice booths and lots of lighting and cute decor on the wall reminding one of the 40s. I had the Cooks Sandwhich and it was just the right size. For a side, I had some amazing sweet potato fries. My only dislike was how cold it was inside (though at time of writing this it was between fall and winter) and as part of a group they forgot some things but I was pleased with the service as they didnt make any excuses and were prompt in service. Will definitely be back again.

I have been wanting to try Anna's House for a while. My friend and I decided to try it this morning. It is a weekday morning, so they weren't busy. We got seated right away. Our server was great. Atmosphere is fun and bright, very welcoming. Food was pretty good. The only problem we had was our silverware was dirty. And more than half way through I noticed a lipstick stain on the glass of water I was drinking. I don't wear lipstick. Thankfully I was drinking through a straw, but still a bit grossed out. I also used the restroom while there. The stall walls and door were filthy. I think I am going to try the new location on the west side of Lansing to find out if that is cleaner.

This is my first review while waiting for breakfast to be made. Let me start by saying, the greeting was so warm and inviting. The restaurant smelled like grandmas kitchen before you even walked through the door. My fiance and I have tried to come before on our days off on the weekend and they have always been super busy and packed. Weekends understandably are busier. So this time we came on my day off during the week. The coffee is Amazing as is the fresh pressed orange juice. I can't wait to eat breakfast this morning. Our waitress Sonoma is very kind, attentive and helpful. I highly recommend coming during the week day if your busy on the weekends and don't have a lot of time to wait. As a gluten free person, I always wanted to try this brunch place out! When I tell you my gluten-loving friends were in heaven as much as I was, I mean it. The server marked my food as GF for my celiac which was perfect. I never had any reaction to the food here, and I plan to return again whether to sit down or take out. Speaking of eating in, the interior is the cutest 60s diner but doesn’t offer a ton of seating. I recommend joining the online waitlist. We joined it 20 minutes early and still waited another 20 at the restaurant. Still worth the wait for me! The fresh squeeze orange juice is delicous and worth the higher price than the regular orange juice. Edit: returned with a new friend and they loved the biscuits and gravy. I got the GF cinnamon roll (which they offer for your birthday) and GF Belgian waffle. Phenomenal first and second experience. Love the staff and food

We had great service and a delicious meal! They have a lot of gluten free options! Now, I am aware the kitchen is not fully gluten free and it's still a risk. I've gotten the gluten free pancakes before and been fine, this time I opted for a gluten free waffle with eggs and bacon. I'm not sure what did it but I think there was some cross contamination as I got sick. But, again, stated on their menu this is a risk for folks with severe allergies! My husband loved the corned beef hash.

My husband and I had breakfast on a weekend. It was good food, excellent service and atmosphere. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the fine food. They offer numerous varieties of breakfast items and smoothies. We had pancake combos with hash browns. I think it was a little pricey; but the experience was good. We'll go back. The cinnamon roll we took home to eat later was good. I was disappointed in the roll. We have had better.
